Vintage Silvered Gravy Boat

This nave-shaped sauceboat is very simply decorated, with only the undulating metal and the frieze of gadroons to enliven the piece. Saucers appeared on European tables from the end of the Middle Ages and became widespread in the 18th century, particularly during the reign of Louis XV. ​
